Nike Foamposite meets Nike Air Force 1
Considering the brand’s rich design history, the Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite Pro Cup is kind of insane. Of course, the notion of throwing together a hybrid of two retro designs is far from surprising this year.
Combining the looks of both the Foamposite and the Air Force 1 the Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite is still quite the sight. Interestingly, this new model brings together two rather groundbreaking looks from the Nike archives. Even if not as retro as the upcoming Nike Air Max2 Light, this hybrid will for sure be a fan favorite.
One would expect the result to be a bit clumsy, possibly even ill-fitting. But, the Swoosh makes it work. Our latest look at this model is in this Gym Red scheme.
Now, it’s worth noting that the AF 1 Foamposite isn’t exactly new altogether. We originally saw this model debut back in 2013, with this latest Pro Cup shoe returning to us earlier this year. For its part, the Gym Red scheme stands out boldly.
The metallic Red hue on the upper really brings the pearlized leather base to new life. The addition of Black accents, including an All Black sole, serves to help that Red base pop even more.
That iconic AF1 cushioning set-up persists, staying true to the on-court legend’s innovative design. The glossy leather on the upper is more than welcome on Nike models.
Generally speaking, the most we get in this category of colorways is via the patent leather builds of releases such as the Foamposite or the Air Jordan 11. This model helps us get a hold of the best qualities behind two historic Nike designs, neither sacrificing the efficacy of the other.
Thanks to its dark yet glossy tone, the Gym Red iteration of this Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite Pro Cup makes for an interesting outfit finisher. To be sure, you’ll have to work hard to make this go unnoticed.
